15. Page Magnifier to Enlarge Small Text
Small text can be enlarged! The Page Magnifier shown below will enlarge small plain text found on most web pages.
E-Mail pages and certain clickables such as "tables" and "buttons" will not enlarge, nor will text which is part of a gif or jpg image. (To learn how to enlarge email text, Click Here.)
To enlarge the text on webpages, the "starting point" URL is:
http://www2.crecon.com/agent33/alter.page?main
Note: This is not the URL you want to save on an F-key.
Here are some brief instructions on how to use this tool.
1. When you "arrive" at the site, use your right arrow to move the "highlight" box over the word "Options". Hit the Return key.
2. Use Scroll Down key about four times, until you see the words "Help Menu". Just below that, click onto "F-key Use".
3. Save that next page into a Fav Folder, and assign an F-key to the site. ( This is very important! )
***Instead of saving it on an F-key, you can just leave it in a "Favorites Folder". When you're on a page that you want to magnify, go to Favorites and click on the "Magnifier Page". Then press your Recent key to return to the webpage you want to magnify, press Recent again to get the "Magnifier Page" and Voila! You'll get the same results as if it were on an F-key.
This frees up your F-keys for their intended use... Favorites! Special thanks to SmooveS10@webtv.net (Bernard Soileau) for this tip!
To use the feature:
When viewing a page with small text, tap the F-key that you have assigned to the Page Magnifier, and all the plain text will be enlarged to the "font size" of 7.
In order for this to work properly, you must assign an F-key to the Page Magnifier, or use the Recent as described above, since you must go directly to the Page Magnifier from the page which needs to be enlarged!
