Using Your Camcorder

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

*(Note)
Before plugging in anything to your WebTV® Plus unit, be sure power is OFF, and your WebTV and camcorder units are both unplugged from the power source!

1. Hook a video cable from the output on the camcorder to the input on the WebTV® Plus unit. This will be found on the back of your unit, and is marked in yellow.

2. Turn on your WebTV® Plus unit and set the camcorder to camera/rec.

3. Go to Mail.

4. Go to Write and highlight Photo. This is found on the left sidebar.

5. Make sure the TV/Video button is on Video.

6. Aim camcorder at subject and focus.

7. Highlight Freeze. When you get the pic you want, press Return.

8. Highlight Add to message and hit Return. You now have a pic you can send in an e-mail.

Many thanks to Mikalfromtx for providing me with the above camcorder instructions. Without his help, they could not have been written. Thanks, Mikal...!!!

Here are a few extra tips for using a camcorder. My thanks go out to Donald, dorlockqw@webtv.net , for these helpful ideas!

You can use your camcorder to make still photos of just about anything! You may like it better than a digital still camera because when taking a picture of people, you can joke with them and they will be more relaxed, as opposed to the uncomfortable posing that's necessary with a still camera. This is especially true with group pictures. Just go to the Write mode in e-mail, click onto Photo, and when the pose is exactly the way you like it, click onto Freeze and you have a perfect shot..!!!

For making copies of still photos, magazine illustrations, paintings, etc., you can use a tripod and a tilte board. Place the item you wish to copy on the board, take about a 5 second shot with the camcorder, and freeze it on the screen.

Here's a sketch to show the setup, using this method. Special thanks to Donald for this information and sketch. Donald can be contacted at dorlockqw@webtv.net .
